On a personal note, the devastation at our local Higgen’s Beach after the two recent storms is emblematic of our new encroaching norm. So sad for us, so much more for the children and children’s children who will come after us!

Thank you, Kathleen. I am in my 70s, with two grandchildren 5 and 1. I have been an avid environmentalist for 50 years. It breaks my heart to see how little we have done to protect our planet. I worry about what my grandchildren will have to live through. Good luck with the book - great idea.

Oh Higgins Beach. I walked Back Cove today and the water rose up onto the path and eroded the recent infrastructure put in to respond to rising water levels. The west and Canada had their fires as wake up calls, we have our floods and our eroding shoreline. Such devastation everywhere.
