My own grandfather, after getting a degree from Harvard Business School, left a job with Univac to run a country store in rural Pennsylvania. Then he rescued another store that has continuously served as the heart of my hometown on Cape Cod since the 1860s. GrampaDib was lauded for his bravery as a fighter pilot in WWII, but I've always thought his decision to walk away from the corporate world in favor of community was far braver.
